World of Good, Inc. was founded in 2004 to create sustainable, market-based solutions to global poverty alleviation. Through a series of strategic relationships with online and offline retail partners, we create opportunities for thousands of marginalized artisans around the world to gain access to a rapidly growing segment of consumers who are looking to make informed, educated, and socially-responsible decisions when they shop.
World of Good, Inc. is comprised of three distinct enterprises that support and interact with one another to drive our business. These include:
World of Good, Inc. also has an independently run, 501(c)(3) sister non-profit, WorldofGood.org, that works to inspire institutional, industry-wide changes that make substantial progress towards alleviating global poverty. World of Good, Inc. partially funds the work of the nonprofit through 5% of the founder's equity, a commitment to donate 10% of annual profits, and periodic company-sponsored fundraisers and events. Unlike other hybrid-enterprises, however, WorldofGood.org pursues independent funding for its work through private and corporate foundations, and individual grants.
