Product Design and Sourcing Team

Angeli Duffin
Product Design and Sourcing Coordinator

Angeli As part of the Product Sourcing team, Angeli works directly with artisan groups around the world to develop new products for the US market. By incorporating the traditional designs and techniques from the artisan communities, Angeli helps the artisans translate their crafts into products that will appeal to a wider market and still preserve their unique aesthetics. With a focus on India and Central America, Angeli communicates daily with the artisans on new trends, and ways to improve quality, design, and aesthetics.

With a B.A. degree in History from UC-Berkeley, Angeli studied the experiences of the developing world where the artisans live. She joined World of Good as an intern in 2004, and became part of the Sourcing team upon graduation.

Through helping the groups develop their product line and business skills, Angeli hopes to bring growth, development, and stability to the artisan communities by connecting them to greater opportunities in the US market.

Amelia Smith
Product Sourcing and Design Associate

Amelia As a member of the Product Design and Souring team, Amelia is in contact daily with the many artisan groups that comprise the World of Good producer community. Amelia communicates design requests to artisans, works together with the groups to continuously develop new products that are appropriate for the Western Market, and is the first point of contact for new artisan groups applying to work with World of Good.

Amelia's interest in fair trade began during a 7-month journey around Southeast Asia. During her time there, she met numerous artisans, learned about their handicrafts and saw the impact of the proceeds in many communities. Upon returning, Amelia joined NETC – an educational travel company providing international trips for school students with the goal of opening their eyes to other world cultures. Amelia's career in educational travel brought her to other developing nations in Latin America, Europe and the South Pacific, where her interest in handcrafts and fair trade practices grew; joining World of Good in 2007 to become part of the fair wage movement.

Amelia feels that Fair Trade is essential in raising the living standards of artisans in developing countries and in preserving traditional crafts as countries modernize.
